A Bit of History
Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) officially opened on July 19, 1996 with a singular mission: to give American families the opportunity to take annual vacations. Over the years, GCI fine-tuned the travel club services. With each development, the travel club product was masterfully designed to provide an affordable package people could use. This natural progression resulted in the creation of one of the leading travel clubs in the industry—Global Discovery Vacations®. The recent addition of the right-to-rent travel club program, Vacation Quest, proves Global Connections continues to evolve to offer the most comprehensive travel solutions by one provider.
Today, Global Connections boasts a membership-base of over 170,000 members. The members have access to thousands of vacation condominium weeks a year; a full-service travel agency providing cruises, tours and vacation packages; buying services offering the latest name brand merchandise at incredible savings; and a concierge program.
In an effort to provide superior services to its members, Global Connections began developing resorts and offering unequaled investment opportunities in the second home real estate market in 2004. Currently, GCI owns five resorts, with one continuing development at White Oak Lodge & Resort, Gatlinburg, TN. Two resorts have vacation home investment opportunities: two- and three-bedroom log homes at White Oak Lodge & Resort and studio, one- and two-bedroom condominiums at Beso Del Sol, Dunedin, FL.
Services for the widely used and popular travel clubs are provided by Global Connections®, Inc., Global Travel Agency and Executive Merchandising Services. Most services are fulfilled from the 25,000 square foot corporate office in Kansas and fulfillment offices dotting the East coast in South Carolina and Florida, which house some of the brightest minds in the travel and leisure industry.
